Following the four preceding projects dedicated to Earth, Water, Air, and Fire, we now open the circle — not to add another material, but to enter a fifth level: Quintessence.
The Fifth is less a substance than a principle: which orders, connects, and transforms. A center where opposites do not dissolve but condense:
chaos and order, matter and idea,
inside and outside,
the present and the future.
Perhaps it is an invisible carrier, perhaps a point of intersection, perhaps only a trace: something that resists definition, yet produces effects.
The artworks state the answer to the question:
What is the Fifth Element for each artist?
The works might not explain The Fifth Element, but make it perceptible;
as a condensation, a rupture, a point of light at the center.
