The B&W
“I don’t think that it exists a contrast between black & white and color, in photography as well as in any other form of art. B&W and color represent different forms of visual expression that we can intentionally chose to propose our point of view on a specific scene or moment.
Summarizing the opinions of some eminent photographers, as Elliot Erwitt and Joel Meyerowitz, the use of color is suitable for descriptive works, while the B&W better fits with interpretative photography. To me, this means that the B&W lets the observers use their imagination to develop their own story just looking to an image, thus the B&W offers a larger range of freedom than color. The use of colors gives an important amount of information that makes the image more legible and quickly comprehensible for the observer ; on the other hand, B&W images need more time to be read and to try to obtain some information that, because of the absence of colors, are often inaccessible, thus obliging the reader to develop his/her own interpretation of the scene. The aim of our B&W projects is not to state that B&W is better or more artistic than color, which was a common opinion in 60’s and early 70’s.
The aim of our projects is just to put in light a form of visual expression that recently has been partially neglected, with the diffusion of social networks and smartphones that have contaminated the visual language with rapidity and consumerism germs.” ~ Pietro Asproni

Sleeping Koala
Koalas are native animals of Australia. They live in eucalyptus forests and woodlands, and feed mostly on eucalyptus leaves. Koalas spend a lot of time sleeping to conserve their energy. They have been listed as an endangered species because of major threats like habitat loss from land clearing, bushfires, drought, and disease, as well as from car collisions and dog attacks when they climb down from trees.

I was inspired to create my works by a certain photograph of Audrey Hepburn. I planned to create a portrait in the style of Detective Noir. Whether I succeeded or not, I leave to the judgment of the viewers.

A series of photographs that offer a glimpse into everyday life in Madrid city, scenes of ordinary people going about their daily lives. Here, I want to express the value of those moments in life when nothing is happening; that's what's special in the world we live in today.

The bath
'The black and white version of the photograph allows me to reveal the silent poetry of the landscapes and creatures, honoring the delicate rituals of life and the silent truths carried by the ight. It's as if I were listening to the breath of the photographed elements.'

''When we move away a little from the intoxication of colors, what remains is black and white - without illusions, and in it we can see with more focus, without subterfuge - however, after seeing reality in this way, the soul can flow with the colors of its own intuition, even if they are not visible to the eye."

No animal can learn that which his heart has no way to hold.
When you strip a photograph of colour, you will show its true nature and worth.
